Anime Avatar Fighting How to Upgrade
Three separate power steps: Upgrade, Refine, and Ascend, including Champions.
Power in Anime Avatar Fighting is not one button. Upgrade, Refine, and Ascend are three separate steps. Players stall when they treat every extra copy as trash or when they mash only Upgrade and skip the later verbs. This page is the investment order after you own avatars and Champions. Summoning is a different sink; use the Summon Avatar and Champion hatch steps for gems.
Open Units on the left HUD. That pane is the box. Shop Extra, Packs, and Tokens do not upgrade a unit for you. Coins from enemies, world bosses, and raids pay the early steps. Do not drink a Luck potion to Upgrade. Luck is for rolls. Damage potions belong on the world boss and raid route while this page spends the coins those fights print.
Upgrade is the first power step
Upgrade raises the unit you already decided to keep. Feed it after a farm stand, not after every single trash pack. Auto Attack from the Avatar Fighting Team group prints coins while you stand still, which is the point: idle currency into a chosen carry, not into ten random anime-inspired shells. If you have not joined the group yet, do that from the beginner first-hour walkthrough so Fast Machines and Auto Attack are on.
Pick the carry with the avatar power ranking and best avatar picks. This wiki does not invent official names. Ignore the urge to match key art to a copyright title. A mid rarity unit you Upgrade will beat a pretty unused pull.
Refine is the second step, not a synonym
Refine is a later quality step. It is not a second Upgrade label. If the client offers Refine on a unit you already Upgraded, that is the next spend, not a reset. Do not Refine a unit you plan to delete. Do not skip Upgrade hoping Refine will skip the queue. The three verbs stack. Treat Refine as the mid-game quality gate between a leveled avatar and an Ascend candidate.
Materials for Refine come from continued farming, boss drops, and potion windows. Drop Chance flasks help here; drink them on bosses, not on the tutorial Pui Pui leftover. Potion rungs stay I 25 percent, II 50 percent, III 100 percent for fifteen minutes, listed on potion I II III tiers. Codes that pay those flasks sit on the working codes list.
Ascend is the third step
Ascend is the long-term ceiling. It costs the copies people keep accidentally dumping. That is why this page repeats the rule: do not delete every weak copy. Weak is not the same as useless. Copies of a carry you intend to Ascend are fuel. Copies of a dead-end unit can go after you check the Tier List hub. If you are unsure, lock the unit in Units before you clean the box.
Ascend does not replace raids. An Ascended avatar still needs to stand on a boss. Teleport there. Click range still uses Roblox movement plus Auto Attack. The HUD and click-to-attack map is the input page if a button is unclear.
Champions follow the same three verbs
Hatch and craft Champions, then Upgrade them too. A Champion left at craft rarity is half a unit. Refine and Ascend apply when the client offers those steps on Champions the same way they do on avatars. Track the box on Champion collection notes and rank them on the Champion ranking. Crafting a Champion is not the end of the spend; it is the start of the same Upgrade ladder.
Swords, skins, auras, and accessories can ride along. They are not Upgrade, Refine, or Ascend. Equip them in Units after the power steps, not instead of them. Leaderboards on Profile measure the players who repeat this ladder through areas and worlds.
If Extra Gift or the live TRADE title is how you move surplus shop items, stay conservative. You can Gift a shop item to a selected player. That is not an upgrade method and it is not an auction house. Details stay on the Gift panel and Trade patch notes. Patch recaps: Trade update recap, Update 0.5 notes, Updates hub. Optional auto farm notes and Scripts overview do not press Upgrade for you in a supported way. Group Auto Attack prints the coins. You press the three verbs.
Investment closeout: lock a carry from the ranking pages, Upgrade it on coins from Auto Attack, Refine when the button is real, keep copies for Ascend, then repeat the ladder on a Champion you hatched. If the box is still full of unlabeled shells, you summoned too much and upgraded too little. Return to the Guides hub only after one unit has walked all three steps.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, summons, raids, and upgrades.
Are Upgrade, Refine, and Ascend the same thing?
No. They are three stacked power steps. Upgrade first, Refine as the quality gate, Ascend as the copy-hungry ceiling. Champions use the same order.
Should I delete extra copies to keep the box clean?
Not by default. Extra copies of a carry are Ascend fuel. Dump only dead-end units after you check the avatar power ranking.
Do Champions need upgrading too?
Yes. Hatch and craft is not finished power. Raise Champions on the same ladder and rank them on the Champion ranking.
What currency pays Upgrade?
Coins from enemies, world bosses, and raids, especially with Auto Attack on. Gems stay on the summon machine. Potions from Extra codes help the farm, not the button itself.
When do I stop upgrading and go raid?
When trash packs feel cheap. Teleport to bosses with Damage potions using the world boss and raid route, then spend the drop back into the three verbs.
